Motoring Master Minds

Recently watched the closing scene of The Master Minds & was a wee bit surprised to see Steed and Emma actually in their motor car and winding their way into the sunset as the show fades to black.

I've been so used to seeing doubles standing in for our heroes - not for the in studio car shots of course but those scenes of them making their way along the (mostly) country roads. The use of doubles is quite obvious most times in the real driving scenes but The Master Minds has them both front and center.

This was a fairly rare occurrence was it not? Or did it become less frequent as the series went on?
