I didn't know quite where to stick this, but I trust if I've miscategorised it, it'll be relocated appropriately.
I've been meaning to link to this for some time now, but I've never gotten around to it, so I thought today I might.
Liz Eggleston, who used to run the Definitive Diana Rigg site at theavengers.tv, has a vintage clothing business, and occasionally she posts about Avengers-related finds. At the moment she happens to have the green outfit Joanna wore in Cat Amongst Pigeons, and a May, 1976 TNA photoshoot. Amazingly, it's not a dress, as I've assumed for the last 11 odd years, but a separate top and skirt.

She also has an example of one of those Catherine Buckley skirts Purdey ran around in in House of Cards, back in the early TNA days when Buckley was dressing Purdey (before she fell behind the production schedule and couldn't do it any longer):

And lastly, of particular interest, is a scan for Tara King Avengersware. Poor Tara always got a bit shafted in the fashion department--Honor had her Frederick Starke line, Diana's clothes made up a couple of lines for John Bates/Jean Varon and Alun Hughes, and Joanna got mannequins with Purdey bobs in shop windows. What did Linda get? A nice line in cardigans:

Now, I love a good cardigan, but compared to what had gone before, it seems a bit...paltry in comparison to what the other girls got. I'm surprised to see anything "inspired" by Tara at all, to be honest, though--I don't think it's been previously documented that Tara had any fashion retail going at all. I love these ads--very moodily shot, with a darn good Patrick Newell look-alike (or possibly Patrick himself) smoking in the background. The first one is from Wish You Were Here (it ends up with a big hole burnt in it after Tara gets the bucket of water dumped on her). The second one looks familiar, but I can't recall the episode--it's been awhile since I watched the Taras. Fascinating stuff.
Anyway, just thought I'd pass these along.

Pleasure. I love that Buckley thought to put a slit in the version she made for Purdey, probably the one concession she ever made to show's action requirements. It worked particularly effectively on screen.Darren wrote:Thanks for sharing these, Timeless, they're fascinating.
I love that House of Cards, Buckley dress as it really flattered Lumley unlike a few of the outfits she was given.
Don't recognise the Tara outfits model. Love the inclusion of Patrick Newell.
I love that site and visit it quite regulary, I had been meaning to post a link especially when I saw the ad for Tara's cardis. I love the fashion from the series although it seems the best costumes never got enough screen time and some got worn far too much, especially that awful blue stripey dress from season 5 which was worn in 5 or 6 episodes .
