DVD Extra Features Checklist

Post by Brendan Jones »

Following the example of a similar effort on the Gallifrey Base forum, I have compiled two lists of the extra features from the current and upcoming releases of The Avengers. There will be two versions- one by feature type, and one by release.

However, I confess that I have not had a chance to check every single script and photo gallery- therefore, if any episodes DON'T have these, please let me know and I'll adjust the lists accordingly.

I'd break down the scripts by type: rehearsal, camera, audio transcript.

The best for me are the camera scripts as they contain a wealth of production information, the rehearsal scripts are more readable and the transcripts are.. well, transcripts. (They were all done in the 1990s as far as I can tell).

I notice the transcript for Brief for Murder is a bit sketchy, they keep assigning lines to the wrong characters in incidental scenes. Bart is labelled as Wilson at the courthouse and Wescott is called MAN in one line, then WESCOTT two line later.
(Can you tell I'm working on Season 3 at the moment?)
Mrs Peel, you're needed!

Brendan, thanks for the effort and the work you've put into that. It's easy to read and is very helpful.

A grand idea. I only have the series 1-3 sets at the moment, but I'll get to work on distinguishing those when I get back to England.

Do the S1 recons come with the appropriate scripts?

OK, this basic information will replace the 'PDF Scripts' bits in the main lists on Monday (for the first two sets- I had saved the PDFs to my hard drive before I left for Australia). I have also prepared full lists with story titles and script types, which will form a third list.

Now, 1.1's script seems to be an odd hybrid of camera script formatting and new typing. If it should be in camera scripts, someone let me know- I've put it in transcripts as it appears to be a reproduction.

Series 1+2
Camera Scripts: 2.1-2.6, 2.8-2.20, 2.22-2.26
Rehearsal Scripts: (1.2) 2.7, 2.21
Transcripts: (1.1, 1.15)

Series 3
Camera Scripts: (1.18, 1.24), 3.1, 3.3-3.9, 3.11-3.14, 3.16-3.25
Rehearsal Scripts: (1.18), 3.10
Transcripts: 3.2, 3.10, 3.15, 3.26

Excellent stuff, Brendan. If you like I can give this information a permanent home at The Avengers Declassified? Please let me know.
