Jean Varon's Avengers Fashion Show

Post by Borgus Weems »

My new fancy-pants Imprint Blu-Ray set had a series of stills from this fashionable event, but I haven't seen this actual moving footage from the event before (unless it's squirreled away on another disc!)
This fashion show by Jean Varon is inspired by the popular TV series The Avengers. One of the models in a black catsuit throws a man down the runway. Avengers actor Patrick MacGee can be seen smiling int he audience.

Although the commentary says Diana Rigg is in the show the commentator is incorrect (original cataloguer's note)
Very good item as Patrick MacNee and Diana Rigg pose for photographs and show off clothes featured in 'The Avengers'. Teddington, London.

L/S stage at Teddington Studios. M/S and C/U Patrick MacNee and model Twiggy posing for still photographers. C/U Diana Rigg, pan to weightlifter George Manners. M/S photographer Terry O'Neill. M/S George Manners carrying Diana Rigg. M/S Terry O'Neill. L/S as George Manners lifts Diana Rigg above his head.

L/S Patrick MacNee and Twiggy posing for more photographs. M/S Terry O'Neill. Various shots of Patrick MacNee with Olympic swimmer Linda Ludgrove. M/S's jockey Josh Gifford talking to Diana Rigg. L/S Diana and Josh posing. C/U Diana Rigg. Various shots as MacNee and Diana Rigg pose. C/U MacNee. Shots of the various stars on stage. C/U Diana Rigg with Graham Hill. C/U Terry O'Neill. M/S racing driver Graham Hill with sword, Patrick MacNee with umbrella and Billy Walker with sword. L/S of the set.

Speaking of fashion, I've found some pieces on the many sensational suits of Steed!

One of the links has a link of it's own to an auction of a Steed Suit - the "Him-er Peeler" of sorts  if you want to see how it looked circa 2010:
