My copy has just arrived. Looks amazing, really nice design on the digi pack and booklet. Looking forward to diving into this. :)

Great surprise ... I'd forgotten I'd ordered it! I've just had the full "vintage experience".

I think the best way to approach "The New Avengers" is to NOT compare it to the original, and to treat it as a good late 70s action series. There's something special about all 1960s series that simply can't be duplicated in another decade.

I've always thought that way about TNA too.
The restoration on the new blu ray is outstanding and does whet the appetite! Feel it may be a bit of a double-edged sword though if the whole series is released in HD, as Purdey's questionable fashion sense will be even clearer to see!!!

Fashions in the 1960s were top notch. It was THE decade for style. The 70s brought a mishmash of styles, t-shirts with images on them, bell bottoms, wide lapels, etc. So we must forgive Purdey if she occasionally doesn't quite come up to Avengers standards fashion-wise. But we have her incredible fight scenes to enjoy. I love Joanna Lumley SO much!

I'm not gonna buy it but that's really lovely clean looking packaging. Previous ones are just too fussy for my liking.
