That would indicate that the Mackiedockie Court sequence at least was filmed after 22 October 1966, when the Russian double agent George Blake escaped form Wormwood Scrubs. Great touch by the set dresser to add that little bit of topical detail!
A question I often asked during series C and Series D of Blakes 7 ;)

Interesting how Blake's escape is linked with Doctor Who - some of the behind-the-scenes technical crew on Dr Who helped Blake get medical treatment and evade capture following his escape... it wasn't only Malcolm Hulke who had communist sympathies at the BBC!

having ties..or interests with the communists, during the Cold War ? in the States, a writer would have been blacklisted..and career stalled.

During the McCarthy witch-hunts, and as a result of the blacklist, a lot of US writers came to the UK and worked on things like The Adventures of Robin Hood using pseudonyms... Sapphire Films (which made that series, plus The Adventures of Sir Lancelot starring the late great William Russell) was founded by producer Hannah Weinstein with initial funds from the Hollywood branch of the Communist Party USA.

interesting...reading about some of the blacklist writers, who ended up in the UK COMING over from the USA...of course, those who remained in the U.S.
didn't write..or wrote under a other name..or had some one ' front ' for the material...good example would be Woody Allen's film, which wasn't a comedy,
'the FRONT ' which explored that whole scenario....my question was about the UK writers, who were the mouth piece, or parrots for the communist party in Britain,
who did went about doing their work...and under 'their' real names...was there pressure-or-backlash from their party ties ? perhaps the political landscape was a tad
different in the UK..in the States, the blacklist went on until mid 1960....until it was broken..

I do know, some writers in the UK, did write under 'fake' names...but my view seems to suggest the blacklisting in the UK, wasn't as dire as it was in the USA.

of course, I could be wrong....as the witch hunt was going full tilt, in those non communist nations...

You may find this article about the BBC marking personnel files interesting! At one point there was even a secret service operative installed at the BBC to keep an eye on things... or rather, on people...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%22Christ ... e%22_files

Some quite big names in the section "People who underwent vetting".

Famously, George Orwell compiled a file of suspected Communist sympathisers. That's linked in the article.
