The A&E releases were attractive, but then again, so are these. As has been mentioned elsewhere, I'd have chosen different photos for the Series 4 box artwork, but I do think that the Optimum designs are generally very classy and eye-catching.

Thanks to the 2010 calendar we know that a new DVD set of season 2 is on it's way.

The company that is responsible for this release is Optimum, who already brought out the New Avengers.

The filmed episodes on the Optimum editions will not include the ad-break bumpers, except as extra features.

In other words, no. It will be interesting to see who gets a Blu Ray release out first...

The telephone box on Christmas was this one (picture on third post). It was the complete séries.

I am expecting check discs of the replacement discs next week. Once these are confirmed as being OK, the replacement discs will be manufactured. Obviously this process is going to be held up with the Christmas and New Year break so in early January...

Interesting to know that in this Blu-ray age some people are still playing video tapes. I wouldn't want to go back to them, but I have very warm memories of my old collection of tapes.
