A&E Avengers Promo Items

Does anyone remember the promotions that A&E did back in '98/'99 when they were first releasing the series on VHS and DVD? You could send away for posters. There was an Emma Peel one and a Cathy Gale one, with artwork similar to the covers they were doing. And there was a T-shirt as well--at lea...

I bet the comic will tie in the The Winged Avenger--assuming they get someone who knows The Avengers to write it.

Steed and Mrs. Peel meet... BATMAN! New comic announced!

Wow! The coolest announcement ever just came on the last day of Comic-Con. DC will publish a crossover between the Avengers and the Adam West TV version of Batman, BATMAN '66/STEED AND MRS. PEEL.

Oh, and the news that Big Finish will publish a collection of the Diana strips in book form was as welcome to me as the audio drama announcement--possibly more so! I love the art in these comics, and can't wait to have a handy book version to read and sit on my bookshelf. I wonder though--does this ...

I'm very excited for this series! That said, I really hope that Big Finish hires good writers to flesh out these stories. Because what's great about the Diana comics is not the stories; it's the artwork. The storylines themselves tend to be pretty simplistic, as they were meant for kids whereas the ...

I have read some complaints of the white levels or contrast being too high. I don't have the optimum discs to compare, but it does seem like the gamma is set too high. I lowered the gamma to 2.4 from 2.2 on my set and this doesn't crush blacks in the slightest or make the picture too dark and dims ...

So the clear market for American Avengers Blu-rays is the collector crowd, not the casual WalMart shopper. And the collector crowd would have paid more for a better release specifically catered to them. The only thing I can figure is that Lionsgate is just hoping to cash in on Marvel's popularity a...

Yes, the UK release will be different. AIUI Lionsgate have gone it alone on this release whereas the UK, France and Germany are co-operating to produce a definitive European version. Besides anything else, the confirmation from StudioCanal UK that their releases of Series 4, 5 and 6 will be 7, 7 an...

oh good point. It would be a downgrade without the extras. I was actually joking with you about Tony Curtis as I thought that you told me he SIGNED Roger's name when you asked for his autograph.. I thought it was sort of outrageous but along the lines of something he would do. Anyway glad he just s...

How terribly unAvengerish! I have the region free player but I agree with you there it is a pain that there is only one way to watch. Do you think that this set is selling well or really my first concern is they will take it off the market again like they did last time and then I will regret not bu...
