Re: 4.14 - The Town of No Return

Those series 4 countryside episodes are amongst my very favourite. The eerie silent unspoken threat in the idyllic setting is quite unmatched. “It is my belief, Watson, founded upon my experience, that the lowest and vilest alleys in London do not present a more dreadful record of sin than does the...

Re: It's 1962 All Over Again!!

Always watching The Avengers from DVD I once watched DEAD MAN'S TREASURE on BBC FOUR. Just the joy of watching it unplanned and spontaneously.

Re: Donald Sutherland (1935-2024)

Was one of the most famous living actors and he had a part on The Avengers, The Superlative Seven for those who needed the reminder.
Also so him with a very small part in Man of the World and a several films of course.

Re: Only One Take Allowed!!

The scene where Cary Grant ends up under a truck after escaping the assassination attempt by sprayer airplane had to be retaken as they had given him his unsullied suit. Now Hitch was a bit of a perfectionist. I've often had the impression that productions that are more limited in their resources pr...
