What's New? |
Merry Christmas, everyone!
Cal Westray's Avengers site has been added to the Little Wonders page.
Steve Lefebvre has spotted a continuity error in The Correct Way to Kill, and I've identified one of the extras in Room without a view - Royston Farrell's been popping up all over the place, as I predicted, but his mug is in the new work.
Otherwise, it'll be the new year before I finish my current round of updates (sorry about that).

Cliff Mark has come to my rescue, informing me that the Daily Mail headline "Where is Blake?" seen in Mackiedockie Court (see Props page 1) refers to escaped double agent, George Blake; he also pointed out my error referring to Parker, which is fixed as well. Thanks, Cliff!
Not wanting to get your hopes up too much, but I'll finish updates on the rest of Season 5 with DVD captures soon, they'll go up as a job-lot.
A whole pile of minor updates and fixes across the site, which you shouldn't have noticed...
The Site Search function is back, but it's slow... (at least, to my mind it is). I'm in the process of replacing it entirely.
It is done! All the episode pages now carry icons alongside members of the cast and crew, indicating their associations with other productions of note (as chosen by yours truly) as well as indicating which performers appeared in more than one episode.
| The new The Avengers calendar for the year 2002 is now available from CalendarMart. It covers all seasons, including The New Avengers, and is a colourful piece worthy of adorning your wall. Click on the image on the left or here to examine and buy it! (Preview here) |
Is it really two months? Never fear, I'm working on new material, I just want to release it as a complete package, and I'm... 18/51 of the way through.
The TV Guide has had a minor update, including extra search links for some of the main actors in the series. Only of use to Australian readers, I'm afraid.
Sounds like The Avengers! We have a very short page of sound files (5 to be exact) now online, and I'll add to it when able. I've entitled it A Chorus of Frogs, as a vague homage to New Order's fantastic 1985 single The Perfect Kiss [FAC 123]
In other news, Royston Farrell has been identified as an extra in The Hour That Never Was (Officer), The Girl From Auntie (Marshall) and Who's Who??? (Goon 4 [maybe]). Frankly, I thought I'd seen him in Man-eater of Surrey Green and Murdersville but didn't find his mug in the files.
Most of the Motor Car images have been taken down - they were bulky irrelevant images for the mostpart, and I plan to replace them with screen grabs sometime soon. A nice consequence is a bit of room (1.5MB) which I can put some sound files in, seeing as you're all searching for them. (Yes, I can see what you're looking for.)
On that note, you can not currently search the site, after discovering some bugs in the script that may cause rogue behaviour. No ETA for that.
Undaunted, we continue - one new image of Diana Rigg, at the London Motor Show (thanks Don!), and her '67/8 car properly identified by Richard Clifton (thanks!) and data corrected throughout the site.
More importantly, I finally re-fixed the new search script for our old server which we're back on.
Welcome back to Progsoc - cybercontrol.org went belly-up in less than a week. I'll be on the lookout for safe werbspace elsewhere I guess, or we'll never see the Season Four Fashion Guide (now half complete and homeless).
Never happy, are we? Some later portions of the tour have changed. The sequence is now:
Welcome to our new URL: http://www.cybercontrol.org/avengers/
It should be the same as the old progsoc site for now, but there are developments in the pipeline.
