What's New at the MOT-NRU?

23 June 2003
Ilona Rodgers finally recognised as having appeared in Doctor Who, as well as lots of Australian & New Zealand productions which have no place here.
I've also changed the link from the home page to the Ministry section to be "Esprit de Corps" instead of "Hunt the Man Down", which one day will be reinstated as the unidentified extras page.
21 June 2003
Despite preparing for a party, I've found time to update the home page to remove the section graphics, and test the site against all the major browsers: I'm happy to report that this site works with NS4,6 & 7(PC & Mac), IE4, 5 & 6 (PC & Mac), lynx (all platforms) and Opera 5, 6 & 7(PC) and 6.02(Mac).
Opera 5 doesn't have the rollout menu staying on screen all the time, but that's the only flaw (except for the transparency not working on the menu - this also happens for IE/Mac and IE4, NS4; lynx of course doesn't have a roll-out menu, just a list of local links at the bottom).
16 June 2003
Spotted a TVR Grantura Mk IIa in The Thirteenth Hole (probably Brian Clemens'), plus a few other cars, added a new blooper in The Joker and most importantly of all, the rollout menu is working for Netscape 6/7 users (sorry about the delay, but as there are only three of you, it was low priority).
30 May 2003
I bring glad tidings... my departmental file of Ministry personnel (official and unofficial) is now complete, and you can see it via the Hunt the Man Down link from the home page and the Ministry link at the top of all other pages.
Elsewhere, Steve Annells has corrected the entry for the London bus in How to Succeed.... At Murder and Tom Joo has put me right about the Vespa in The Town of No Return.
21 May 2003
I bring bad tidings... Universal Pictures Video have delayed the release of the Avengers Region 4 DVDs - this time with no revised release date, just a 'temporarily unavaialable' notice.
I know this is a blow to our many reader who expressed interest and excitement about the upcoming release, perhaps it's NBN 9 (Newcastle)'s fault for showing the series in the graveyard shift...
15 May 2003
Sorry about that... the broken images have been repaired, and the roll-out menu on the From Venus with Love, The Correct Way to Kill and Return of the Cybernauts pages have been fixed (and all the other pages updated so the code is in line - I've no idea why those files were so picky.
9 May 2003
The Australian DVD releases are now slated for June 18th.
I've also made the roll-out menus semi-transparent...
17 April 2003
Happy Easter, and the good news this Friday is that you can pre-order the Australian DVDs from online retailers - use www.happyhunter.com to find the best price - it looks like www.totaldvd.com.au, www.atlanticdvd.com.aui and www.ozdvdwhs.com.au are the best value, but check the shipping!
8 March 2003
Images have been added for Jenna's continuity errors for The Thirteenth Hole - you might notice I've added two more, and deleted a few as well.
27 February 2003
Jenna Clayton tips the balance on The Thirteenth Hole - more continuity errors than you can wave Gladys Goldsmith at!
Elsewhere, Denis Chauvet identified a car in Two's a Crowd, and prompted me to identify two more; he also spotted a continuity error in The Joker which I'm trying to get a good screen grab for - expect it soon!
18 February 2003
The Avengers on DVD, in Australia!
Universal Video are releasing the Emma Peel colour episodes in an elegant boxed set, priced at AU $149.95 - that's around £50 or US $80, so it's quite a good price. Brand new artwork - different images on each box - plus DVD extras as you'd expect, as well as episode details supplied by us here at dissolute technologies.
Click here to see the box.
17 February 2003
Two bit-part identifications - John Harrison as the old tribesman in Small Game for Big Hunters (he's a Dangerman crossover too - but not listed as such yet), and Pamela Davies as the WRN in What the Butler Saw.
14 February 2003
Liz Eggleston, the wonderful, wonderful Liz Eggleston, has supplied fantastic new pictures (from a 1967 "Women's Own") for the fashion guide:
fighting catsuit in navy and mustard, lilac crepe dress and jacket, tan/orange 'little-nothing' dress, striped action dress, and cream cotton piqué raincoat.
Thanks Liz, and Happy Valentine's Day!
10 February 2003
Neil Sivyer's spotted a few flaws in the Transport Guide, which I've fixed (but it's probably an Austin A60 van in The Correct Way to kill with those rebated sidepanels).
The Allies put out a song a few years ago called "Emma Peel", and it has just been re-released, you can order it here (thanks to Robert Allen).
6 February 2003
Happy birthday to Patrick Macnee, who turned 81 today.
28 January 2003
Welcome to the new world! The Episode Guide was a bit cumbersome, methought, so the episode pages have been recoded. Initially, they load with just top section of the old pages (synopsis, cast and crew, drinks and illustrative images). To see any more of it, use the sliding side menu. I think it makes the pages more readable, and the site traffic should drop a bit, as you will only receive the information your after, rather than everything at once.
No longer javascript dynamic loading, owing to problems on the Mac platform - expect me to make it so when I've solved them.
That should stop those pesky robots...
17 January 2003
Denis Chauvet and Ralph Kranz have supplied the correct German title for The Murder Market after it was broadcast on Kabel 1; Denis has also corrected a few typos or mistakes in the French episode titles (all corrections on The Internationalists page.
Lance Boanas spotted an error on Honey for the Prince and Jenna Clayton has given a whole heap more of continuity errors for A Surfeit of H2O.
2 January 2003
Happy New Year!
Denis Chauvet has spotted a boom mike in A Surfeit of H2O, and Jenna Clayton has picked apart the continuity in The Town of No Return, Small Game for Big Hunters, Never, Never Say Die, and Murdersville (for which I've stumbled across the scripted names for the first killer-victim pair).
