What's New?

19 December 2003
Added a touch of Christmas to this page and the main page.
13 December 2003
Nothing much... but it involved every page of the site. We've also had enough of search engines indexing the old site, at progsoc, so that's been much truncated.
8-10 December 2003
Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased) (both incarnations) has been added to the other shows shown for guest actors, and I've improved the icon for The Saint.

All the crew lists have been updated and corrected, including cross-over appearance icons, for all three seasons covered herein. New code has also been added to the Tara King episodes to slightly improve the layout, hopefully you won't notice.

4 December 2003
Dad's Army has been added to the other shows shown for guest actors, and a few typos with actors' names have been fixed here and there.
27 November 2003
Return visits and appearances in other shows recorded for actors in Tara King episodes (although not yet on the compilation pages), plus I've added appearances in The Saint / Return of the Saint for actors in all the episodes covered by this site, a cross-over cast list will be produced soon. Previously overlooked appearances have also been listed.
The Tara entry in the site tour has changed to All Done with Mirrors which better reflects my vision for the site.
21 November 2003
A site reborn - not a single <FONT> tag to be seen, so pretty much every single Emma era page updated, although you shouldn't actually notice much of a change.
20 November 2003
A whole raft of changes to the cast lists for Seasons 4 & 5 - all the icons for regular guests and other appearances have been corrected, on the Episode Pages at least; compilation pages to follow, along with the addition of the icons to the new Tara King episodes.
19 November 2003
The official paint colour fron Lotus used on Mrs Peel's Elans is called "Glacier Blue', so I've updated the Transport Guide (and elsewhere) to replace the erroneous use of powder blue, which doesn't reflect* the metallic nature of the paint.

* ha, ha

7 November 2003
The Regular Guests pages have been updated to include mugshots from the Tara King episodes; expect more updates of these pages soon.
While updating and correcting some of the Tara King episodes, I realised that Frank Maher did not play Frank Elrick in The Bird Who Knew Too Much, as that stuntman and Frank appear alongside each other in Have Guns - Will Haggle.
4 November 2003
Jamie Ashby of Houston, Texas wins the prize for being first past the post* (in correcting a Tara page - The Curious Case.. trivia). Erle Stanley Gardner's work not only was the inspiration for the episode title, but the three villains are Earle, Stanley and Gardiner.
Luckily, this led me to notice that the cars and fashions were wrong for that episode as well - oops!

* Yes, it's Melbourne Cup Day.

31 October 2003
A quick correction - John Bennett is not the frequent bit-part player in A surfeit of H2O [heckler], The hour that Never Was [cook], Honey for the Prince [napoleon] and Who's Who??? [bluebell] - sorry for any inconvenience caused!

The site tour has had a Tara page added to it, and it's been restored to full working order, take the tour now!

TX & production details added to Tara section (thanks to David K Smith); the font has changed slightly as well.

29 October 2003
First major update in years!1
Our new Tara King Episode Guide is now up and running, sooner than expected!*. In keeping with her fashions and the set designs, it's a lot more colourful than the other sections, you have been warned! Let's call it a work in progress - most of the episodes don't have trivia and continuity errors yet, but we're working on it. All submissions are welcome (as the dominatrix said to the bishop).

1 Well, 20 months anyway - Season Four was launched back on 14 Feb 2002.
* Never thought I'd be glad to have the 'flu...

Also, be sure to check out the 2004 Avengers Calendar from CalendarMart (and order it - this year's edition looks great, with photos they haven't used before)!

24 October 2003
A long time between drinks... minor updates of trivia for The Living Dead (Mandy wears one of Mrs Peel's old coats, and Angora does the same in The Hidden Tiger. Stay tuned, huge site update in a few weeks!
Oh, by the way, the Google text selection code doesn't work for IE/Mac or Safari. sorry about that, we're working on improving it...
12 August 2003
Yet another tech update - if you print pages of the site, all the navigation areas will automatically be removed from the page layout (all homage to A List Apart).
8 August 2003
Matthew Sutton has kindly pointed out a mistake in the Fashion Guide - I'd listed two of Mrs Peel's jackets as being the same, although they differ in material, and to a lesser degree in cut.
6 August 2003
More tech stuff going on... I've implemented better CSS and added Lloyd Dalton's google text selection search code - now you can select a bit of text, click on the G box that pops up and you'll be whisked off to Google to search for the words you've highlighted. Stay tuned!
5 August 2003
Those niggling javascript errors in The Gravediggers have been cleaned up, and I've recoded the roll-out menu on all episode pages for a more comfortable ride - enjoy!
30 July 2003
The television screen image for the Ministry section has changed - it now shows Major 'B' in his office. Elsewhere, and more importantly, Graeme Harris has pointed out I neglected to mention what Mrs Peel is watching when Steed interrupts her television viewing in Never, Never Say Die; it is of course a rerun of The Cybernauts.
23 July 2003
New acclaim for Rocky Taylor - stunt man extraordinaire and the only performer verified to have appeared not only in every season of the Avengers and New Avengers (mostly as Patrick Macnee's double) but also every single other show I make note of. Congratulations Rocky, and I like your website, too.

Elsewhere, and somewhat involved with the above, I spotted Alan Chuntz in The Cybernauts and Joe Dunne in Escape in Time - he may even be the guy I'm currently indicating as Rocky Taylor in The Cybernauts.

I've also edited some information on the Other Shows page - nothing important, but did you know that only 13 days elapsed between the screening of the last The New Avengers episode and the first The Professionals episode? No, neither did I.

What else? ... I archived off another lot of updates into the aptly-named neoteric.html, and I've titled it What's New at the MOT-NRU? (if you're wondering what I've rabbiting on about, have a look at Never, Never Say Die.

21 July 2003
Four new extras for The Hidden Tiger, but only two mugshots, and no identifications.
18 July 2003
Added a download for the much sought-after mission pack for Grand Theft Auto (London 1961) to the GTA page.
14 July 2003
Nicole Shelby, whose footage in Mission... Highly Improbable all hit the cutting room floor has had her admittedly very poor "Hill's Angel" image replaced with a shot from "The Saint" which very usefully appeared on TV Tome.
3 July 2003
Following an anonymous tip about Mrs Peel's bird sculpture turning up in Escape in Time, I can confirm that in addition to appearing in The Girl from Auntie and The Bird who Knew too Much, it was a feature of her apartment for the first six episodes of Season 5.
