Re: The Avengers: The Cathy Gale Years (Via Vision Entertainment)
Have they had any remastering or restoration?
(Especially the audio, which suffered excessive noise reduction previously.)

If these sell well, it might be nice if they did a restoration on The New Avengers next!

Hopefully they have done some work on the sound and picture and it would definitely be nice if they could do a restoration on The New Avengers, time will tell I suppose.Frankymole wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2024 6:46 am Have they had any remastering or restoration?

I know from having purchased the Emma & Tara sets that their blu-rays are region-free. Are their DVDs region-free, as well, I hope? (I have a region 1 player and it isn't multi-region.)

Re: The Avengers: The Cathy Gale Years (Via Vision Entertainment)
Apparently the film series releases (Emma and Tara) were "the same masters as the StudioCanal blu-rays and the download version from Amazon" (says user Paul Foster on Gallifrey Base)*, so I doubt there will be any restoration or new masters done for Cathy and co.
* at least I have the Network BluRays of the Cybernaut episodes! A shame if Imprint/VV couldn't use those - would the actual restored masters of those have reverted to StudioCanal?

good question .....and if I had to make a guess...NO.......unless studio canal reimburse for the 'improved' masters...

I have checked with them and it will play on UK players but unfortunately I don't know about American players but If you sent them a message on there website they are very quick to reply back to you and they are very friendly.AgentCooper wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2024 11:00 pm I know from having purchased the Emma & Tara sets that their blu-rays are region-free. if the blu rays are region free, chances are very good, that they will play on U.S. disc players...of course, one could hedge their bets, by simply buying from amazon, etc all region blu ray player..

Re: The Avengers: The Cathy Gale Years (Via Vision Entertainment)
If they'd had any restoration, I would be impressed. I do think that being a niche release from within a niche interest makes it unlikely but having subtltles is a step forward.
Oh for a day where the sound gets fixed!!!!
