I think (hope) Frankymole was being ironic in his last message, Timeless!

Diana did attend the launch of the Lumière videos in 1993, so you never know what could happen. I admit I would be surprised if she did. Hugely pleasently surprised.
I heard Diana went to the video launch because she felt obligated, and got out as quickly as she could. I'd just like to hear her general thoughts on the series about something other than about how she was paid next to nothing, and hated the fame, and nhow good it was for her career. Interviewers are always cueing up their questions to get their subjects to reiterate stories they've told a million times before. I'd just like to hear what other memories she has, something that hasn't been beaten to death already.

Oh, where did you read that Timeless ?
It is not very correct to act that way...but we don't know if it's true nonetheless.

Me too Timeless, about her opinion, knowing it would be good, if she liked it, etc...If she gave us more description about the show and the episodes than the budget, and "behind the camera stuff"...

Oh, yes, I've forgotten  .
On the French website, there's an interview of the actress and she talks about one episode she remembers very well which is : THE CYBERNAUTS.
(It's was during a Festival, in 1992).
I believe I read it somewhere on this forum, actually. I noticed that in a follow-up video for the launch party you could see Honor, Linda, and Patrick, but Diana was nowhere to be found.

Diana actually comes up with some very good anecdotes when she's in the position to--practicing her shooting at the end of The Cybernauts without a gun because she hates guns and gun shots make her blink, the snake in A Touch of Brimstone falling asleep in her arms (even though she was warned it might pee on her!), and the jewel repeatedly falling out of her navel when she was doing the dance of the seven veils in Honey for the Prince. I'd ultimately love to hear more of this sort of thing from everyone involved, as opposed to retreads about hoe Cathy got her leather outfit, and the "first strong women on television" story. The show was brilliant and groundbreaking in what it did, but I've heard it a thousand times already, and too often each of the players falls back on their equivalent of Douglas Adams' "I was lying drunk in a field in Innsbruck" whenever they're asked about the show. One of the reasons I love Joanna is she consistently comes up with new tidbits. Why retread your audition struggles again when you can talk about shooting all the car scenes with Gareth turning on the camera, and you operating the clapperboard? :D

I agree. That's why I was mildly disappointed by the Honor Blackman clip from the new DVD, via Amazon, where she talks about 'trying suede which absorbs light so someone suggested the other side: leather'. Still I'm not going to judge the whole interview on that few second clip. I'm still very positive about the extras on the new set. 8)

I have to admit I thought the same thing when I saw the clip. I'm hoping for new tidbits as well. I'm actually more looking forward to seeing Julie Stevens, since we never hear from her, so she, at least, should have something fresh to say. :D

I've just seen Julie in the show. :(
It would be awesome indeed to see her after many years.
I've been blessed by The Avengers!

You've got to remember that these DVDs are for a general audience, not just the hardcore, and as such, have to cover the basics while trying to keep the hardcore fans happy. It's a difficult balance to strike.

That would be a daunting task.

It should also be borne in mind that for Honor, The Avengers is just one part of a long, successful career - and it's half a lifetime ago. It's inevitable that there will be a certain amount of falling back on familiar stories. It's not like it's yesterday, after all.

Of course, but Honor has a brilliant memory - she told a really funny story on Jonathan Ross' radio show about Wildred Hyde-White, and even did an impression of his famous "Ho! Ho! Ho!" laugh.

I think she has other anecdotes, too. I just always get the sense that interviewers are railroading all of them into recounting the same old stories. I get that not everyone knows as much about the series, but as Joanna has proven time and again, you can really entertain with a fresh story. It'd just be nice some new stuff while we still have the chance.

My father found doing the commentaries recently very hard as it is difficult to remember every detail 46 years on. The same must apply for everyone else involved. It's hard to find stories which haven't been told before apart from ones which are still too 'hot' to reveal!
